gaucho's gym air force 1's

did i mention that i was in new york a few weeks ago ?

i've been so busy since i got back to whitfield towers that i haven't yet edited
all my new york snapshots.

so, in the next week or so there will probably be a fair few new york-ish posts
mixed in with what nonsense i'm currently up to.

the first photos from my trip that i've edited are these... the shots of my one
trainer purchase from the three days i was over there.

gaucho's gym air force 1's
they were made for a gym in the bronx a few years ago now.
i picked them up from flight club along with a pair of af-1's for my entourage
king-pin neil, about 90 minutes after i landed at jfk.
i actually bought these from flight club before i checked into my hotel !

the materials used on these bad boys are not the premium leathers
i would have thought from looking at the photos. then again they were
not very expensive and i think nike made them more affordable for the kids
up in the bronx who played basketball for the gauchos.

they do however have some very nice details
the toe box, eye stay and tongue are in orange leather. grey laces, silver lace tips
and dubres complete the look.

the sock liner is grey padded material, the tongue tab is a multi-coloured effort

the milti-coloured theme is continued in a subtle way with the stitching on the midsole
also a detail i've never seen on an af-1 before... engraved midsoles.
i guess "choz" is short for "gaucho's" and south bronx is the location of the gym.
the tip is in a mock crocodile leather and the outsole is orange coloured.

the mid panel is orange leather, the foxing in grey leather and a white mock croc swoosh
with grey stitching adds some contrast to the shoes.

the heel tab is in a darker grey material, the same grey as the midsole.
it features the gaucho's gym logo instead of nike air and a swoosh.
the heel strip is in the same pale grey colour as the foxing and sock liner.

the insoles have different patterns printed onto them. here's the left.

and the right...

oh... they also come with a gaucho's gym key fob
i think you get a lot of details for your money ( $105 ) with these shoes.

one final pic of these 'problems'
boom boom pow !

bringing heat to... etc etc...

  1. Nice Shoes mate! I bought those 2 years ago and i had to search for them again so i shipped them from arizona once again. The favourite af's i have ever had. U forgot a little detail mate, the tip shines with the light or with camera flashes.

these bronx choz sneakers are GREAT LOOKING! good deal and they are not expensive as ppl think, but they are kinda rare if in europe.

  2. thanks for your comment.

yes, the tips are in a 3-m material. I didn't notice until I bought the other
two pairs of choz in the different colourways.
    they all utilise 3-m material.
once again, a very nice touch for a cheap-ish shoe.
